Throw (threw/thrown):
“The kids threw the ball to each other.”
“He had been thrown from his motorcycle, but he survived.”


 

Understand (understood/understood):
“I started the test early because I already understood the instructions.”
“You've never understood my point of view.”


 

Uphold (upheld/unheld):
“The judge upheld his decision.”
“The Constitution of the United States has always been upheld.”


 

Wake (woke/woken):
“The fisherman woke up very early in the morning.”
"He has never woken up on time for school."
