Strike (struck/struck):
“The smaller boxer struck the larger one.”
“The general said they haven't struck the enemy yet.”


 

Strive (strove/striven):
“The couple strove to reach an agreement, and finally did.”
“Many people have striven towards learning a new language.”


 

Swear (swore/sworn):
“The explorer swore that he would travel across Africa.”
“The governor was sworn into office yesterday.”


 

Sweep (swept/swept):
"When they started dating, he swept her off her feet."
“Has the house been swept?”


 

Swell (swelled/swollen):
“Her injury swelled up quite a bit.”
“His broken arm has been swollen for days.”


 

Swim (swam/swum):
“They went to the beach and swam in the ocean.”
“Has anyone swum in the new pool yet?”
