“He shot himself”

Cody and Elaine are watching the news. Plaxico Burress was a football player for the New York Giants. He was eventually convicted and sent to prison.

Elaine: Who's that?

Cody: Plaxico Burress.

Elaine: Oh. He's that football player that's on trial.

Cody: Yeah. He's probably going to go to jail for 2 years.

Elaine: That sucks. What did he do, exactly?

Cody: He was in a bar and accidentally shot himself.

Elaine: So he's going to jail for shooting himself?

Cody: I guess so. I think it's more because he was armed in a bar and shot his gun. Obviously he wasn't intending to shoot himself. Since he fired the gun, he probably wanted to shoot someone else.

Elaine: Well, that makes more sense.
